The Turnbull Creek Regional Mitigation project is a major wetland restoration, enhancement and creation initiative by St. Johns County. Work included removal of roads, ditches, berms, installation of ditch blocks and low water crossings, creation of 9.3 acres of wetlands, and associated native plantings throughout a 750 acre County-owned mitigation area. Earthwork and plantings were conducted in two phases, with a three year monitoring and maintenance period for each phase.
